Find a sunny spot for it. <em>Done.<\/em><\/p><p>The water should be changed every 3 days <em>(and be careful not to drown the stem). <strong>The amazing part about it:<\/strong><\/em> Within a few days new leaves start to grow from the old stem. Naturally, you won\u2019t get a whole field of lettuce out of it. But it should be enough for a small salad or a topping. The whole thing also works with the stem of radish or spring onions, leek, <em>(the remains of)<\/em> carrots, red beet, and so on. That works as well. Here, you should keep two things in mind when watering: <em>Not too moist, to avoid mold.
